Principal Investigator

Bernadette D'Souza MD is the Medical Director and Principal Investigator of Midwest Clinical Research Center in Dayton, Ohio. The center was established in 2002 by Dr. D'Souza for the conduct of clinical research trials for psychiatric conditions. Since then, Dr. D'Souza has functioned as the Principal Investigator on more than 140 Phase-II through -IV clinical research trials, including trials for:

  • Addictions

  • Alzheimer's Disease

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Depression (MDD)

  • Fibromyalgia & Pain

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

  • Insomnia

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Sexual Dysfunction

  • Schizophrenia

Dr. D’Souza is a Certified Physician Investigator through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. In addition, she is a staff physician at Good Samaritan Hospital, the Dayton Heart and Vascular Hospital, and an Associate Clinical Professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. D’Souza is certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and previously served as an examiner for the Ohio Board of Medicine. As a researcher, Dr. D’Souza has been an investigator on clinical trials sponsored by most major pharmaceutical companies as well as the National Institute of Mental Health.
